ECHO IN AFRICA
Fri 8th Aug 2014
The Cardiology Dept at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital are involved in a programme called Echo in Africa, the aim of which is to provide screening for Rheumatic Heart Disease. There are 15.6million people worldwide living with the consequences of this disease; the tragedy is that with early detection and proper treatment many of these devastating complications can be prevented. This project will provide 2000 children in the surrounding villages of Cape Town with this much needed screening with the ambition of setting up a permanent facility.

This year, two staff from the N&N will be there for a week and need to raise funds to get them there and will continue to raise funds to enable us to continue to support the programme.

On Friday the 8th of August there's an exciting music variety evening at Mulbarton Village Hall. A real mix of bands on the line up so far, including Black Shuck, a young rock band with covers and original stuff, singer Anna Maria, "The Duke of Nukem", and Brother Pit. Doors 7.30, £5 a ticket.
