Norwich 99.9 - What's On in the Norwich area

THE 19th NORWICH PRINT FAIR
Mon 8th Sep 2014 - Sat 20th Sep 2014
St. Margaret's Church Gallery, St. Benedict's Street, Norwich. 10am - 5pm, Monday - Saturday

Now celebrating its 19th year, The Norwich Print Fair has grown to become one of the best loved and largest independent selling shows of its kind in East Anglia. This September, the Fair once again brings together 29 of Norfolk and Suffolk’s finest printmakers, displaying a wide variety of hand-made print techniques, all within the unique setting of an historic Norwich church. With a mix of firm favourites and new artists, this year’s show promises to deliver yet another stunning display of original prints.

On Saturday 13th and Saturday 20th September all of the artists will be present, displaying extra work, sketchbooks and printing plates to illustrate their varying techniques. The atmosphere is informal and friendly and everyone is happy to answer questions about their work – no matter how technical!

The middle Sunday, 14th September, will once again be focused on ’Printmakers in Action’, with a rare chance for the public to observe artists at work, producing original prints. Discover how the various plates are made and printed, from screenprints to linocuts, mezzotints, etchings and collagraphs. With the chance to see the prints emerging from the presses, this day is a real treat.

Throughout the exhibition, The Norwich Print Fair will be running its very successful Mini Print Raffle, for the chance to win specially created works by the artists. Tickets are £1 each, and are available from the venue throughout the Fair.

Admission Free.
