FREE SUMMER HOLIDAY ARCHIVE DISCOVER AND MAKE ACTIVITIES

Inspired by the Norfolk in the First World War Exhibition which opens next month, Norfolk Record Office have two Discover and Make children’s activities for the summer holidays - Periscopes and Poppies (5th August & 1st September) and Toys from the First World War (6th August & 2nd September). All sessions are 2pm - 3.30pm. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Activities take place at The Green Room, The Archive Centre, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DQ

OMNIA ANNUAL FETE

At Omnia, 50 Sale Road, Heartsease, Norwich, 12 - 4pm. The Sheriff of Norwich will be opening the fete and there will be live entertainment from TD Sings, Scarlet Moon Barbershop Quartet, Norwich Harmony Ladies Barbershop Chorus and the Pam Clarke Dance School.

There's a BBQ, cakes and refreshments, tombola, raffle, children's corner, face painting, bric-a-brac, plant and jewellery stalls, complimentary therapy taster sessions and more.

Entrance free.


COFFEE MORNING

In aid of Cystic Fibrosis. 10am - 1pm, Church Rooms, Church Street, Dereham.

There's a tombola, raffle, plant stall, refreshments and - most importantly - cakes!


FIRE STATION OPEN DAY

Carrow Fire Station, Bracondle, Trowse - 11am till 3pm

Fire fighter displays, appliances on display (for children to get into the cabs etc), urban search & rescue demo, face painting, games, the Fire Experience Unit (which is used with schools to teach children the dangers of house fires), burger stall, cake stall, tea and coffee stall, ice cream van. Parking at County Hall Martineau Lane (across roundabout).


CHARITY DANCE
Sat 6th Sep 2014
Lighthouse Inn, Walcott, 8pm.

Music for everyone from the 60s - 90s with Bobby Graham and Don't Ask Band. Tickets £5 in advance or £6 on the door, from the Lighthouse Inn (01692 650371) or Veronica (01692 405408). Proceeds will be shared between Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal and the Norfolk & Norwich Surgical Oesophagogastric Gastric Team.


CHARITY FUN DAY

Aimed at kids, the aim of the fun day is to raise money for Motor Neurones Disease. There will be face painting, kids activities, bouncy castle, tombolas for adults and kids, an amazing raffle and we now have had confirmation that we can hold a charity football match on the day.

The local fire department is coming down with one of their fire engines. There will be music from a DJ throughout the day and local band The Tickets will be playing too. It's going to be an amazing day. There is no charge for entry, just drop a donation in one of the buckets when you arrive.

Bring your family and friends together to enjoy this years Big C Sponsored Country Walk (incorporating the Walk of Thoughts). You can finish the walk with a trip to the cafe or why not bring a picnic?

Join us at Houghton Hall for a fun, relaxed, family country walk around the grounds of Houghton Hall (thanks to the owners and management of Houghton Hall for donating us the use of their land for the walk).

With a Norfolk themed trail, and three different lengths of walk, 10, 6 and 3 miles, and our regular "tree of thoughts" where you can leave memories and tributes to your loved ones. Boost your fundraising and get sponsored!

Refreshments in the Cafe. Walk starts at 10am.

£5.00 per adult, £2.50 Under 16's, £12.50 Family/Group Ticket (based on 2 adults 2 children OR 1 adult 3 children). Dogs go FREE (but on leads). The walk is not wheelchair or pram friendly, but the cafe is.
