Norwich Ghost Walks from June to November

The Man in Black and his team are stepping up the tension for the summer/autumn programme of terror around the streets of Norwich.

The first walk is happening on June 1st at 7.30pm from the Adam and Eve in Bishopgate, and every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday thereafter until November 30th.

The cost is £6 and £4 for concessions.

Strawberries and Steam

Every weekend in July visitors to the Bure Valley Railway can enjoy a steam train journey with free strawberries and cream to every far paying passenger.

Trains depart from Aylsham and Wroxham regularly throughout each day.


Hoveton Hall Gardens Glass House

The restoration of rare 19th century Glass House at Hoveton Hall Gardens is complete.

Visitors are invited enjoy the gardens and the wide variety of plants on show.

They’re open every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday between 10.30am and 5pm.

Admission is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children over 5.


Toy appeal at The Mall Norwich

All gifts will be donated to Leeway women’s aid who help families who are victims of domestic violence.

Butterfly Conservation in City Parks

Find out more about the beautiful butterflies and marvelous moths that live Norwich.

There are butterfly conservation events happening across the city’s parks.

The first is on Tuesday 27th between 10am and 5pm at Wensum Park.

Then on Thursday 29th the conservation team will be at Waterloo Park between 10am and 5pm.

Finally on Sunday 1st August between 10am and 5pm they’ll be at Eaton Park.


Norwich Pride

The Norwich Pride event's happening in the city on July 31st.

It's to celebrate the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community.

The aim's is to get rid of discrimination and raise awareness of LGBT issues.

The Norwich samba band are leading the parade through the city.

Outside on Millennium Plain there are interactive dance demos in the morning including latin american and line dancing.

The Pride Picnic is at Chapelfield Gardens from 12-2pm and there'll be activities for the kids, a poetry corner and performance artists around the park.

The Pride Show on Millennium Plain starts at 3pm and is filled with local talent.


Brundall River Fest

This year’s Brundall River Fest is happening on Saturday 31st July.

There’s lots happening including a dog show, stalls, refreshments and entertainment.

The fun continues into the evening with the River Fest party on the marina.

Charity Football Match and BBQ in Cawston

There’s a charity football match happening on Sunday 1st August at Cawston Primary School.

Doors open at 1pm and kick off is at 2pm.

As well as the football there’ll be lots to do including a BBQ after the game at the Bell Inn Cawston.

The teams are made up of local youths and local police and some former professionals as well.

They’ll be competing for the Matthew Fletcher Cup- in memory of Matthew who passed away in 2006 from Leukemia.

All welcome to come and support the day which is raising money for CLIC sergeant and Macmillan nurses.


Fundraiser for the Starlight Children's Foundation

There's a Charity Fundraiser being held in aid of the Starlight Children's Foundation.

It's at the Boundary Public House in Norwich from 12 - midnight.

There'll be : karaoke/disco, raffle, bbq, street dancers, kiddies entertainer + games
bouncy castle.

Stalls for the day are £5.

All money raised will be given to starlight children's foundation set up for children who are terminally ill or are receiving treatment in hospital and provides entertainment for these children and trips of a life time.

Black Tie on the Broads

Charity Screening

There's a charity screening of the family film Marmaduke at the Odeon Cinema on Sunday 8th August at 11am

It's raising money for the Indigo Dyslexia Centre and the NSPCC

After the film there will be a chance to have a chat with the dedicated volunteers from the centre who can offer help and advice on dyslexia screening and assessment plus information on tuition and educational resources available direct from the Charing Cross charity

A Celebration Festival is being held on Sunday 15th August 2010 at Roundwood Celebration Venue in Taverham between 11.00am to 5.00 pm.

Its a family fun day with lots of outside and inside activites for all the family.

We will also have an exhibition of our Retirement Village available for all to see.
